My top four tips to connecting on a dating app

 

1.  First of all remember why you joined the app in the first place.  You want to meet someone new ,and in order to do that you have to connect.  Before you start swiping take a moment to think about your LANGAUGE you are going to use the app to entice people to your profile.Talking about your hobbies on a profile is great, it gives an insight into you and how you spend your free time.  Give stuff away about yourself, be GENEROUS if you like to swim and run put it on your profile, if you are very sociable then say so.

2. Be kind, use encouraging language like, ‘I am looking to meet my best friend who I fancy.’ ‘I am lots of fun and looking for someone open hearted to go out and explore London with.’ This is all very positive language and tells a story of what you want, rather than what you don’t want. I see so much of this ‘no posers, pouters, or people with tigers.’  ‘If you want to know more about me just ask’.  This language is LAZY and tells a story that you really can’t be bothered, and that you expect the other person to do all the work.  It’s a big red flag and a turn off.
4. Have a couple of photos of you smiling, one casual one smarter attire, and not with any other people in the photos. You want the focus to be on you, and please have it be somewhere enticing other than your sofa. Get a friend to take a photo of you when you are next out and about.  A local park or coffee shop is fine, it will bring your page to life and shows you out in the real world.

4. Have a call to action, ‘if you like the look of my profile and think we could get along please come and say hi. ‘ Any good piece of marketing is aimed at making the observer hit that button and dating apps are no different, you want someone to say yes to connecting with you and then make that move.
