Are relationships seasonal? Why is there a rise in dating sites in October?
The search for love is universal and it is an ageless event where we desire a partner more at certain times of the year. For example Valentimes Day, January is the time where people will start becoming aware that they may want to be sharing a romantic dinner with a special someone on February 14th and so the search hosts up at the beginning of the year.
Right now the numbers of people searching for love is high as we are looking for someone to spend Christmas and new year with, the second most romantic season of the year. A study shows that love may be seasonal and it does not have to last a life time. Think about the pressures of finding a lifetimes love, they must be perfect for us in every way. Have a similar outlook on family, money, children, and share some hobbies. As well as fitness goals, mental health and general emotional intelligence.
Its no wonder so many people are at breaking point with finding love, the pressure is immense and it seems overwhelmingly difficult to get all of the boxes ticked.
Perhaps if we looked for a seasonal love and accepted that a nice time can be had with someone who is right for now, that we could be happy and enjoy someones company for however long it lasts without putting a lifetimes pressure on it.
Easier said than done I know, however without all that pressure it is possible that the seasonal partner may just become the life partner you were searching for. If not then you both had a nice time and enjoyed the holidays, perhaps its a win win.
I hope I have given you some food for thought and changed the way you are looking at dating, at least for October/ November!
with love
