So here I am travelling around Vietnam, a long awaited trip that I knew I wanted to go on and had not been sure what it would give me until I got here.

Here is what I have learnt and what travelling with a bunch of strangers and joining an Intrepid group has taught me.

I am thriving in a new culture, seeing new sights, getting way out of my comfort zone has awakened every part of me.  I was someone who could not get up in the mornings and here I am awake before the early alarm that goes off and I easily get out of bed.

Being part of a group is very nourishing, being with people who are like minded, taking part in the same journey and experiencing similar to me, it’s very comforting.

I feel a familiar bond with everyone on the trip, we are all strangers yet we are all the same.

The new culture is a shock to the system that has woken me up and made me feel youthful again, with so many wow moments.

Age is only a number but a generosity of spirit, a smile and someone that shows interest and care is what makes me feel the most love for someone.

I look forward to many more highlights and i am only half way through the trip.

So some take aways – say yes to a new experience, get into a new area, culture, group, activity and have faith in yourself that you can do it and you will be fine.
